Quantum Computers and AI

Five years ago I was gaining international recognition and awards for my pioneering work with GANs. It was not until a couple years later that everyone else realized their potential and they are now a fundamental part of every AI artists toolbox.

Recently, I have been working with Quantum Computers on select pieces and believe that this will soon be as important to generative art as GANs, if not more important.

The reasons is simple. Typically, generative art relies on pseudo-random numbers and as a result the digital art is repeatable and therefore not unique. The only way to create truly unique digital art is to observe the true randomness of actual atoms on actual quantum computers. Problem is that are only a couple dozen quantum computers in existence right now and they are difficult to access. When they become more accessible, however, they will become increasingly important as digital art grows in popularity and adoption.

All these works were procedurally generated by actual IBM quantum computers.
